Location
Belgrave South is a middle-sized primary school situated in the Dandenong Ranges 37 km east of the centre of Melbourne. The area enjoys the benefits of living on the rural fringe of the suburbs, yet near main arterials and the railway line at Belgrave. Environmental planning restrictions limit the areas for future residential development in the area. The location of the school in the centre of the township helps the school maintain a very high profile with all local residents.
The development of the school environs is an area of continual improvement through the guidance of the appropriate School Council sub-committee Facilities and Grounds. The plan reflects the unique environment on the school and the surrounding areas.
The majority of our students live within walking distance of the school, however some students travel from surrounding areas such as Kallista, Selby and Tecoma.
The refurbishment of the original school building, built in the early 1920s was completed in 2002, has meant that this building of historical significance is used on a daily basis and is an integral part of the school.
